The Masterson family were a pioneer Texas ranching family, owners of the JY Ranch, and breeders of Aberdeen Angus cattle. The ranch, begun by Robert B. Masterson in the 1880s, consisted of some 73,000 acres and was later operated by his descendents for three generations.
